Mondays on the other hand...

Ok, today is Monday, and what a crazy monday! We started the day with a sleepy snooze-fest, in the awesome embrace of my wonderful wife...then bang! Monday hit and then some. It seemed it rained all night, and kept raining all day. We had an early meeting with some potential Property Management clients, and even though the meeting started late due to roof leaks, and having our contractor over, we got the job! Yay? Who knows. Work sucks some days even on your own terms, how about that for a drab, good for nothing, "sin verguenza" Monday attitude? I know, i stink. Really, we are stoked to have landed the gig, and they are very nice folks...so...we then got right to work with said clients reviewing the to do list for their home. Then I had to go meet some guests staying at one of our other rental homes, and our vehicle could not make it down our amazingly muddy road to town. Really. So, on the ATV I went, returning home soaked, to find my Andrea battling the never ending run-down of water from various corners of our roof. Not fun. With that said, now we are home, the rain just stopped at 6pm, and are sure to warm up around each other and the TV. Oh, and I also, 1 day later, figured out how to post that video. Still working on the quality, but dig this for now. Ok, Monday is almost over.

Everyday feels like Sunday...

Video Killed the Camera Star
My wonderful and loving parents bought us a video camera for documenting the coming of Sayulita's newest son - the Bat-Boy from below, Super-Baby, the Unknown baby, Baby-X, Iron Baby, the Incredible Baby, or whatever we call him .... My folks are great and super excited about their incoming grandson-rocket, and as with most our friends and family, they are all far-far away from us. We can now post videos of the baby, our lives, my hang-overs, good hair days, and just general nonsense to bore anyone but the most fervent follower, bestest of friends (you know who you are!) and Grandparents alike. So, on this rainy Sunday, after spending a truly enjoyable couple hours barely-watching the Dog-whisperer, barely-reading the instruction manual, and attentively sipping some afternoon Tequila, I got the camera working, and fixed my new bionic evil-eye on my favorite subjekt...... stay tuned.
Circo Circo
The circus came to town last week, and seeing as how we have never been to a Mexican circus, we decided to go with a couple of the other kids from town. We wandered over early in the day for tickets and found what looked like a circus truck had exploded, and sent animals flying all over the place. On one street corner was a cage with 3 tigers, desperately hot and cramped. Poor kitties. Across the street was a Camel tied to a car, kept company by 2 mini-horses (sadly, no mini-cowboys), a goat and a Llama. As we walked down towards the tent, about 2 blocks down the street were these huge Bull-like creatures called Watusis. Clearly put on "time-out" for being bad, exiled so far away from the others in the blazing sun.... what'chu do, Watusi? Anyway, We went to the 8:30pm show, not knowing what was behind the big top, coerced by the ticket lady to buy tickets up front, for they were much better. Jeeez, you never get too old or wise that you cant be scammed! The seats were the sucker seats, we were the only ones, gringos of course, sitting up there, easy pray for clown pranks or tiger bites (the first one much scarier to me). Everyone else was behind us, on bleachers. We became part of the show for the Mexicans, but we all found it funny. What we came to find once the show started was that the entire circus was performed and managed by one family - we really should have guessed this when the snack bar was run by what looked like too-young out-of-work trapeze artists. From the youngest girl sleeping on the side of the ring during the performances, to little "Chimichurri" who barely tumbled during the gymnastic portion of the night - from the clown/tiger tamer, to Grandpa, the Tiger-poker, Dad the announcer/rope puller, everyone had a couple of acts, jobs and responsibilities they did with semi-motivated motions. Most the acts were done by the kids, minus the clown and the tiger tamer (again, same guy), and he really didnt do much taming, just yelling. After some bagged popcorn, warm soda, and sad animals, we had checked something else off our bucket list and will surely skip the side of the road family circus next time - we'll just visit the animals on the side of the road.
